Arkendu TMS did not begin as a product. It began as the software a working fleet built for itself because nothing on the market matched how the business actually ran.
A fleet running contract lanes across western and southern India had the same problem every operator of that size has. The trip data lived in a register. The expenses lived in a spreadsheet that was rebuilt every month. Positions lived in the GPS vendor's portal, PODs lived in WhatsApp, and invoices lived in an accounting package that knew nothing about trucks. Every question worth asking — what did that lane earn, which PODs are outstanding, how much cash goes out on Friday — meant somebody reconciling three sources by hand.
The systems we looked at were built either for a courier network or for a Fortune 500 shipper. Neither knew what an indent was, what a trip budget was for, or why the person who raises a driver advance must not be the person who approves it.
So we wrote our own, one screen at a time, in the order the problems hurt. The indent register first, because that was where the errors started. Then placement, then the LR, then the trip budget, because that was where the money was leaking. Tracking, tolls, invoicing and collections followed. Every screen was in daily use by the people it was written for within days of being built, and most of them were rewritten afterwards because those people said so.
Because the problem is not ours alone. A fleet of thirty trucks in Pune has the same nine disconnected systems as a fleet of thirty trucks in Coimbatore, and neither can justify building what we built. The work is done. Making it available to other operators costs us far less than it would cost any of them to start over.
Arkendu is the company that now carries that work forward as a product: Arkendu TMS, sold, implemented and supported properly, for operators who would rather run trucks than build software.
What you sign into is the real system, with every module switched on. If a screen is not ready, it is not on the demo either. We would rather lose a deal than win one on a mock-up.
Every customer runs on their own database. We do not pool it, mine it, or use it to fill a demo. The sample data on this site is generated from nothing.
The software is used every day by an operating fleet. When something in it is wrong, we find out the same way you would — from somebody who cannot finish their work.
Three days of full access, no card, no sales call unless you ask for one.
